Hello Hunters!
Welcome to Tribal Baby’s Hunters Thread. Each day I highlight a page on the site. Todays is an article I wrote for the Australian Breastfeeding Association’s ‘Essence’ magazine, called Breastfeeding my Nappy Free Baby
I wrote it when my son was under a year old. It highlights how important breastfeeding was in helping us with Elimination Communication, or rather the other way around – doing EC helped to support breastfeeding. Anyway, it is about the interdependence of the two….
My baby stirs beside me. He searches and ‘boobifies’ himself as I gaze at his gorgeous face. A quick drink and he pulls off, frowns, squirms and kicks his legs. I pick him up and hold him over a bowl, where he does a big wee as I whisper “sss” quietly in his ear.He then continues his feed for a while longer, eyes open as he fiddles with my hair. Soon, he pulls off, goes back on, detaching and attaching in a certain ‘plucking’ way as he again wriggles then grizzles a bit. I hold him over the bowl again, cue ‘sss pss’, patiently waiting – he does his daily poo as I clench my belly muscles to encourage and help him to learn what to do. I wipe his cute little bum with a tissue.
Enjoy your visit to Tribal Baby!

Good Morning hunters!
I see a good swag of you are finding my icon, nearly 90 in fact. Well done. Can’t be too tricky…
Keep looking if you’ve found the last clue a bit trickier – a little hunting around will get you there.
Today I want to show you my directory of Elimination Communication Stores. Great for clothes, potties, cloth training pants, all sorts of clever clothes designed specifically with elimination communication in mind. The stores are all over the world and each offers something of value to the EC Community.
Be sure to check out EcaWare Baby during the hunt as well, Lisa has provided the prize donation for Tribal Baby; a pair of EcaPants, which are training pants that flip down in front for easy potty breaks. They are very cool indeed, I have several pairs for my little ones. She has a new facebook page as well and would welcome some new fans to keep in touch!

Good Morning Hunters,
Nearly 100 of you downloaded my free eBook called ‘Discover the 7 Secrets to Elimination Communication‘ yesterday, so I thought I’d tell everyone a bit more about it today!
The aim of it is to gives Moms the confidence needed to do Elimination Communication in a positive, light hearted way. Each ‘Secret’ is an approach that will help you to do EC without thinking it must be done full time, or that you can’t use diapers – you CAN! We do! Everyone does!
EC is about the elimination comfort of tiny babies – giving you another option when they are squirming, fussing and unconsolable – perhaps they just need a poop! Many times this was the answer for us – to hold baby’s bum into a bucket with our hands holding under their knees and back supported by our belly. The simple position HELPS them to go – and voila! They do their thing.
Whispering ‘pss sss’ in their ear, or some other relaxing sound can become a trigger that they can release again in the future – and just like that, you’ve introduced a cue sound, just like thousands of mothers in the past.
Over 2500 mothers have learnt the 7 Secrets to EC already. I hope you might too, simply click on it’s download link and read through at your leisure, or join my announcement list to have a more ‘guided’ tour.
Have fun hunting for Tribal Baby’s icon!

I will be linking to a page on Tribal Baby each day of the hunt and telling you a bit about it. Sometimes it may be part of the hunt, or maybe not.
My hunt is pretty easy, you’ll travel around the different sections and find out a few things.
Today’s article is:
Elimination Communication: The Importance of Diaper Free Time… It’s part of the section of Tribal Baby where I recorded my experiences discovering EC with my son… 7 years ago!
Becoming diaper free is a slow, evolving process of team work with baby and one’s own confidence – stretching the barriers of the comfort zone until they become wider! Then staying there for a while – cruising in the zone – until the confidence to expand comes again! (It always does) So what if we plateau for a while – it is all fun. Then you look back and go “Wow, look how far we have come!”
